School of Professional Studies and Summer Session
Overview
Through the School of Professional Studies (SPS) the Department of Mathematics offers an evening program, including a mathematics major, to meet the educational needs of working adults.
During the summer, the Office of Summer Session and Special Programs offers courses from across the University. Summer is the one time of the academic year that courses offered by Northwestern's various academic units are available to continuing School of Professional Studies (SPS) students at SPS's tuition rate, and without special permission. Students who register for their first Northwestern courses during the summer as students-at-large, and later register with as students through SPS, will receive the same summer course credit granted to non-SPS students. Students should verify the amount of credit available for Summer Session courses, as well as the applicability of those courses to SPS certificate and degree programs, with an adviser.
