Abstract:
The local Langlands correspondence is a conjectural classifiction of representations of the group G(k((t))) and p-adic groups in terms of Galois-theoretic data. When G = GL(n) the conjecture was proved long ago. More recently, work of Genestier-Lafforgue and Fargues-Scholze has established part of the correspondence in general, but important questions remain open. I will describe joint work with Gan and Sawin that refines these recent results and work in progress with Beuzart-Plessis and Thorne that aims to complete the deepest part of the classification.Date: Friday, May 17, 2024
