Abstract:

Quantum field theories provide a host of connections between different areas of mathematics. In this talk I will discuss a recent set of conjectures motivated by QFT which connect BPS particles, often related to geometric counts of special Lagrangians, or refined DT invariants, to characters of vertex operator algebras. A key role will be played by wall-crossing formulas and their formulation in terms of quantum torus algebras.
