Abstract:

We study Zariski decomposition structures using Legendre-Fenchel type transforms. In this way we define a Zariski decomposition for curve classes, generalizing Zariski's classical result on surfaces to all varieties. This decomposition enables us to develop the theory of the volume function for curves, yielding some fundamental positivity results for curve classes. We also discuss its application to mobility (asymptotic points count) and a refined structure of the movable cone of curves. The talk is based on the joint work with B. Lehmann.
