Abstract:

I will report on a recent series of papers with Buryak, Dubrovin and Guéré using the intersection theory of the double ramification cycle (the cycle in the moduli space of stable marked curves representing those curves whose marked points support a principal divisor) to associate an integrable Hamiltonian system of evolutionary PDEs to a cohomological field theory. Applications include previously unknown quantizations of famous integrable hierarchies (KdV, ILW, Gelfand-Dickey, Toda and more) and a (partially conjectural) relation to the Witten-Kontsevich theorem and the Dubrovin-Zhang hierarchy.
