Title: Random energy landscapes and computational algebraic geometry methods
Speaker: Dhagash Mehta
Speaker Info: University of Notre Dame
Brief Description:

Abstract:

Finding the stationary points of a potential energy function arising from scientific and engineering phenomena is an important problem. In this talk, I will explain how computational algebraic geometry methods can be of great help here with a mention of various examples. I will also mention my recent results on statistics of stationary points for random potentials using the computational methods.
