Abstract:

At specific points in the moduli space of certain 2d gauge theories the gauge theory ground states realize Calabi-Yau manifolds. Often these Calabi-Yau geometries arise from conventional symplectic quotients. However, in so-called strongly coupled patches of the moduli space, determining the ground state variety remains challenging. In this talk I present a class of 2d gauge theories, for which I propose a geometric description for the patches of strong coupling. I present evidence in favor of this proposal and discuss the geometric implication for the underlying Calabi-Yau moduli spaces.
