Abstract:

The talk will focus on a construction of exact Lagrangian cobordisms between Legendrian submanifolds, where the Legendrian in the concave end is assumed to be loose. Loose Legendrians are a recently discovered class of Legendrians in contact manifolds of dimension 5 or larger. They admit remarkable flexibility properties, allowing for some surprising constructions such as a type of "Lagrangian Whitney trick". As corollaries, we show that the only interesting geometry in a Weinstein domain is contained in a topological collar of the boundary, and that any 3-manifold admits an exact Lagrangian immersion into \C^3 with a single transverse self-intersection.
