I will discuss using the manifold calculus of functors as an organizing principle for studying spaces of "link maps". I will show how the linking number and generalizations of Milnor's invariants fit into a multivariable Taylor tower for the space of link maps. Finally I will also mention where one should look for new as yet undiscovered invariants by looking at a few simple special cases.
