Abstract:

Segregation models appear in several areas, in physics, where different particles annihilate on contact, in population dynamics, where different species cannot coexists, or in equipartition problems in geometry. There is considerable literature in this area, and I will discuss several results in the local case where particles are separated by a surface, and some new results in the case when there is a full dividing region.
