Abstract:

Despite its apparent simplicity, C^3/Z_3 is an extremely popular and intriguing orbifold for both mathematicians and physicists. A long standing quest of computing its Gromov-Witten invariants was recently fulfilled almost simultaneously with independent methods by three teams of people (Coates-Corti-Iritani-Tseng, Cadman-Cavalieri, Bayer-Cadman). Together with Charles Cadman, we use techniques of localization on gerbes to produce recursions - or if you prefer, a hierarchy of differential equations on appropriate generating functions - that determine completely the equivariant GW theory of C^3/Z_3.

I will discuss this work and put it into the context of Ruan's Crepant Resolution Conjecture.
